Math is not that hard.

This is funny, but it just makes me so sad. Sad because it’s true, and sad because it doesn’t surprise me at all. When did it become ok to let kids through school who can’t do simple math, or know the most elementary basics of history? I have tutored college students who couldn’t manage the most simple calculations. And believe me, it’s not that they weren’t capable of learning it. It’s just that no one ever expected them to think. Just spit out the answers that are spelled out in front of you, that’s fine, you pass. It’s ridiculous.

Alka-Seltzer + Water + zero gravity = ?

This is just cool.

I’ll start light.

People will never cease to believe that this interwebz thing is magical. A politician asks for the Amazing Universal Browser. And I want a flying pony. Both equally likely.

The world is (not) ending!

Whoever is elected this November, things will not change as much as we think. Every election seems to be a massive effort where the politicians insist that they can change things, and the public works very hard to believe them. The simple truth of it is, while the president has a great amount of influence, they can’t change that much on their own, nor will they risk rocking the boat much once they’re in office. Unless they decide to discard the constitution and the rule of law, the things they insist will change (health care, taxes, etc.) are still going to have to go through a lot of people before they happen (like congress, perhaps?). So go figure out who those people are, why don’t you?
